Music and Drummer Discography
Drummer Discography
Music has always been a big part of my life, satisfying my undying urge to unleash tsnumanis of incomprehensible noise. This has generally come much to the misfortune of my various neighbours who’ve had to develop a tolerance for watching their walls vibrate to an audial torrent, comparable to that of an army of robotic elephants unleashing furious violence upon one another… oh yes, I play drums.
I’ve been playing since the age of 15, though it wasn’t until 2003 that I really started to apply myself, and began playing with bands regularly. While my musical inspirations vary greatly (I don’t like many bands/musicians, just a few from a load of genres), the bands I’ve played with have generally been of the fast, heavy, noisey, barely listenable persuasion.
Financed and distributed by the awesome 7 Degrees Records in Germany, my last recording with Krupskaya is a test of intense, mind-blistering endurance.
Distributed by Grindhead Records, our split with Australian Grindcore outfit Kill a Celebrity was one of the last records they released before disbanding in 2009.
Germany Grindcore belters ‘Wojczech’ are absolute legends, so for this particularly brutal release we focussed on tailoring our most brutal, dsetructive noise to date.
For this split with the US of A’s ‘The Communion’, we submitted a face melting recording from one a live performance in the UK with Stoke sludgers, Charger.
I forget what this was all about, but both Black Sister and ourselves recorded a ‘classic’ thrash track of our choosing for this release, with ours being ‘Flag of Hate’.
It was an honour for Krupskaya to be featured on the third ‘One way ticket to hell’ compilation released by DIY label, Teriak Records.
Myself and multi-talented buddy Tim recorded this selection of improvised, Beefheart inspired noise pieces during January 2008.
We’d been involved with Trendy Bastard and their independant label Sassbologna records for a couple of years, so it seemed high time we built a collaboration.
Sassbologna Records (ran by the fine chaps in Iowa band, Trendy Bastard) put this fast comp together in 2008, with not a single song lasting more than a minute.
For our follow up record to Clouds Over Pripyat we tried a wee bit harder to write noise which could possibly pass as being ‘songs’, with brutality ever present.
Distributed by many a respected DIY Record Label throughout Europe, this was my first ‘proper’ recording and the debut release for grind mutants, Krupskaya.
Within two months of playing together and just a couple of weeks Prior to our first gig’s out of the UK, this demo features ten of our earliest, roughest recordings.
A big part of my work comes through involvement with marine wildlife research and conservation, particularly with great white sharks.
I use my sharky blog as a personal way of keeping avid followers/stalkers up to date with the latest shark business.
I specialise in a variety of design services, from corporate branding and web site design, right up to graphic illustration and videogame art.
I am available for hire on a remote basis, though will happily travel should the opportunity arise.
