Overview

Originally writing fan boy reviews for Xbox powered games for Razorart back in 2002, I eventually moved onto creating interviews, reviews and highly self-indulgent game-related articles for the mod database.

Though I continue to write for moddb on a fairly regular basis, recently my concentration has moved to writing narrative for comics.

A behind the scenes article with Matthew ‘Vehtam’ Malocha, creator of the exceptional 2GhostsI fan video powered by id Tech 4.

Nehrim is an expansive, thoughtfully produced RPG, proving what can be achieved a team endeavours to create something truly new.

It won’t appeal to everyone, but thanks to great footage and pacing this is a strong example of how to showcase the beauty of dangerous wildlife.

Inspired by the classic Thief series, this is The Dark Mod for Doom 3, one of the truest examples you’ll find of the term – total conversion.

GoW isn’t without its scene and there’s a nice handful of SP levels available for you to to take a blast through if you’re looking for more cover based action.

Moddb has been given an exclusive access to a test build of the mod, featuring unique characters, materials, sound effects, music and weapons.

Sometimes, videogame creators risk their core gameplay mechanics by prioritizing their artistic vision. Sometimes, it even pays off.

Although Human Head and 3D Realms Prey failed to make much impact on release, that hasn’t stopped a few modders from expanding on the original game.

This team of budding modders have taken the classic Quake concept, and breathed new life into it through the id tech 4 powered, Doom 3.

An extensive playtest of the upcoming Half Life powered mod which has constantly put its big brother ‘Source’ to shame. This is Paranoia, and it’s almost here.

Flaming Ice, a relatively young development team aim to extend the story and universe of one of the most successful games of all time.

Pillars is an upcoming mod for Doom 3 by a group of students from the University of Stuttgart, hoping to take the engine in new directions.

The Sharky Blog

A big part of my work comes through involvement with marine wildlife research and conservation, particularly with great white sharks.

I use my sharky blog as a personal way of keeping avid followers/stalkers up to date with the latest shark business.
