My adventure into print design came when more and more of my web design clients began asking if I could adapt their designs into advertising materials, such as flyers and leaflets.
Likwise the bands I was playing drums for at the time were also starting to release music, and as the only designer in the group(s) it was my job to put the artwork together.
The major benefit of printed materials (though blatantly obvious) is the physical aspect, as the fact that you can actually hold your creation gives it a completely unique level of connection to the audience.
